Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
In short: FitMatch has no accounts and no advertising. Your body measurements are stored on your own device. When you actively ask for an analysis, the product page's text and your measurements are sent to our server so an AI model can work out your size. We don't sell your data, and we don't track your browsing.
Who we are
FitMatch is a Chrome extension that recommends clothing sizes. For questions about this policy or your data, contact kontakt@besadigital.dk.
What we store on your device
The following is kept in your browser's local extension storage and does not leave your device unless stated below:
- Your measurements — height, chest, waist, hip, shoulder, and optionally torso, inseam and sleeve length.
- Your preferences — gender setting, preferred fit, and interface language.
- Cached results — previous size assessments, so the same product doesn't need re-analysing.
- Your feedback — if you answer "did this size fit?", the answer is stored locally to improve future recommendations.
- An anonymous install ID — a random identifier created on first use. It is not linked to your name, email or any account.
What is sent when you click "Analyse"
Nothing is sent until you actively press the analyse button. When you do, and the page has no readable size chart, the following is sent to our server for the AI assessment:
- The product page's visible text (truncated), its title and the website's address
- Up to four product image links from the page
- Your measurements, gender setting and language
- Your anonymous install ID
Our server forwards this to Anthropic, which runs the AI model that produces the size assessment. We do not store the analysis afterwards.
Anonymous usage statistics
So we can tell whether FitMatch actually works, we count a small number of events. These are tallies only — there is no profile, no history, and no way to connect them back to you:
- That an analysis was run, and which source was used (store chart, AI or generic)
- The domain of the shop — e.g. "hm.com" — so we can see where our page reader struggles. Never the product, the page title or the URL.
- That a profile was saved, and that a link to a retailer was clicked
- Your answer to "did this size fit?" — this is how the recommendations improve
These are sent with the same anonymous install ID described above and stored as daily totals. Your measurements are never included, and we never record which specific garment anyone looked at.
Your IP address
Our hosting provider processes your IP address when your browser contacts our server. We use it, together with the anonymous install ID, purely to enforce a fair usage limit and prevent abuse. It is not used to profile or identify you.
Third parties
- Anthropic — processes the page content and your measurements to generate the size assessment.
- Netlify — hosts our server and processes standard connection data such as IP addresses.
- Affiliate networks — if you choose to click a labelled link to a retailer, the network may set a cookie so a resulting purchase can be attributed to us. This only happens when you click such a link yourself.
What we never do
- We do not sell or rent your data.
- We do not show advertising.
- We do not track your browsing history or read pages you haven't asked us to analyse.
- We do not ask for your name, email address or payment details.
How long data is kept
Data on your device stays until you clear the extension's storage or uninstall it. Usage counters used for the fair-use limit are short-lived (hourly and daily windows) and are automatically superseded.
Your rights
Because your measurements and history live on your own device, you can delete all of it at any time by clearing the extension's data or uninstalling it. Under the GDPR you also have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we process, and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Contact us at the address above.
Children
FitMatch is not directed at children under 16.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we will update the date at the top and, where appropriate, notify users within the extension.
